How to run a space

Who leads a space

• The owner appoints moderators and can hand the space on.
• Moderators, and the owner, edit the space and its rules, pin a post, take posts out and remove people.
• Mavuno's moderators can do all of this in any space, so a space whose owner has gone can be handed on.

Write its rules

1. Open the space and select Edit.
2. Under Rules, select Add a rule for each one, up to 10, then Save.

They're on the space's About tab, numbered, with who leads it.

Appoint a moderator

1. Open the space's Members: select its member count, or Members in the app's space menu.
2. Open the menu beside the person and select Make moderator. They need to have joined the space.

Pin a post

Open the menu on a post in the space and select Pin to space. It stays at the top until a leader unpins it or pins another.

Take a post out or remove someone

1. Open the post's menu and select Take out of space, or Remove from space to remove whoever wrote it. On Members, the person's menu has Remove from space too.
2. Choose the space rule it broke. The person is told which.

A post taken out stays on its author's profile. Someone removed can't join again or reply in the space until a leader lets them back in. What's removed is listed under Removed on Members, with Put back and Let back in.

Hand the space on

On Members, open the person's menu and select Hand the space to them. You stay on as a moderator, and can leave the space after.

If your post was taken out of a space

You'll get a notice naming the space and its rule, and your post is still on your profile. Ask the space's leaders, or report the space if you think they're misusing it: Mavuno's moderators can put it back. A removal by Mavuno itself is different: see About removed posts.
